This notice explains how Emplorium, Inc. (“Emplorium”) uses cookies and similar browser storage on its website, web application, and Emplorium-powered chat experiences. The controls on this page apply to optional analytics and support chat on this marketing site. Where retained earlier text below refers to continued browsing as consent, this 15 July 2026 notice controls: optional services remain off until you make an affirmative choice.

Scope

This notice covers:

  • Visitors to emplorium.io.
  • Registered users of the Emplorium application and dashboard.
  • Visitors who interact with an Emplorium widget embedded on a customer’s site or application.

For a widget on a customer’s property, Emplorium generally acts as that customer’s service provider or processor. The customer is responsible for its notice and any consent required for the widget. Dashboard and customer-site widget settings are managed in those products or by the relevant customer, not by the marketing-site switches below.

Optional services are off by default. Necessary storage cannot be switched off because it records your choice and supports preferences you request. You can change your choice here at any time.

What this site uses

Necessary browser storage

The site stores a record named emplorium-consent in local storage. It holds the consent version, the time of your decision, and whether analytics and support chat are allowed. Theme settings may also be stored under theme and is-system-theme when you choose a display preference. The is-system-theme record can be initialized automatically so the site follows your device setting. These records stay in your browser until you clear them, the site replaces them with a later version, or you update the relevant setting.

Analytics — optional

If you allow analytics, the site loads Google Analytics and PostHog. These services can use cookies or local storage and receive information such as pages viewed, interactions, approximate location derived from an IP address, browser or device details, referring page, and timestamps. We use this information to understand site use and improve the website. They do not load through this site before analytics consent is recorded. Emplorium’s analytics providers process data under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.

Emplorium support chat — optional

If you allow support chat, the site loads the Emplorium chat widget. The widget may use cookies or local storage needed to open a conversation, associate messages with the current browser, and remember chat state. Anything you type into the widget is sent so Emplorium can respond. The widget does not load before support-chat consent is recorded.

On customer sites, widget storage can keep a conversation consistent across pages, restore recent chat history, support performance, and limit automated abuse. Emplorium does not use widget identifiers to track visitors across unrelated customer domains or for unrelated cross-site advertising. Visitor profiles are session-based, do not persist across devices or cleared storage by default, and some widget identifiers may remain for several months on the same browser to restore a recent chat.

No advertising category

The current consent system does not load an advertising or cross-site marketing tag, so it does not present a marketing-cookie switch. If that changes, this notice and the consent choices must be updated before the new optional service is enabled. Emplorium does not sell personal information.

Changing or withdrawing consent

Saving a new choice replaces the previous consent record. If you turn off a service that has already loaded, the page refreshes so that service is removed from the next page view. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser. Clearing the consent record makes the banner appear again; optional services remain off until you choose.

Blocking all browser storage may prevent the site from remembering your decision, so the banner may reappear. When analytics is switched off, Emplorium removes accessible Google Analytics and PostHog identifiers for the current host and applicable parent domain. Browser site-data controls can remove anything that is not accessible to this page.

Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are handled as required by applicable law. Where a valid signal requires an opt-out from targeted advertising or covered sharing, Emplorium treats it as that request. The current marketing site does not load an advertising category in any event.

This Cookie Policy applies to:

  • Visitors to our website at emplorium.io.
  • Registered users who access the Emplorium web app and dashboard.

For end users on our customers' properties, Emplorium generally acts as a service provider or data processor. Our customers are responsible for ensuring their own cookie and consent practices comply with applicable laws and align with their privacy policies.

2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device (such as a computer, tablet, or smartphone) when you visit a website or use an online service. They enable core functionality (like keeping you logged in), help us understand how our services are used, and support security, performance, and personalization. We also use similar technologies such as local storage, pixels, tags, SDKs, and web beacons, which can perform functions similar to cookies, for example measuring usage and performance or remembering your preferences. For simplicity, we refer to all of these technologies as "cookies" in this Policy. Cookies can be:

  • Marketing — to support our own marketing campaigns, such as measuring page conversions or audience segments, in compliance with applicable consent requirements.

Where required by law (for example in the EU/EEA, UK, and similar jurisdictions), we obtain your consent before placing non-essential cookies such as analytics and marketing cookies.

4. Types of Cookies We Use

4.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

Strictly necessary cookies are essential to provide you with the services you request and to ensure the security and stability of our platform. They typically:

  • Maintain your login session within the Emplorium dashboard
  • Route requests to the correct backend infrastructure
  • Help prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access

You cannot disable strictly necessary cookies through our Cookie Settings because the Emplorium platform and chat widget cannot function properly without them.

4.2 Functional Cookies

Functional cookies remember your preferences and settings so we can provide a more tailored experience. Examples include:

  • Remembering your preferred language or theme in the dashboard
  • Saving UI layout or filter preferences across sessions
  • Storing widget configuration states for smoother visitor interactions

If you disable functional cookies, some personalization or convenience features may not work as intended.

4.3 Analytics Cookies

Analytics cookies help us understand how people discover, use, and move through Emplorium. We may use first-party analytics cookies and third-party analytics services to:

  • Measure traffic and usage patterns on our website and app
  • Understand how often chat widgets are opened, messages are sent, and flows or triggers run
  • Diagnose performance issues and improve reliability

Where required, analytics cookies are only activated after you give consent in the banner or Cookie Settings.

4.4 Marketing Cookies

Marketing cookies are used to support our own advertising and growth efforts. For example, they may help us:

  • Measure which campaigns drive sign-ups, trials, or purchases

6. Cookies in Emplorium Products

6.1 Website and Dashboard

On emplorium.io and in the Emplorium web application, cookies support authentication, security, feature access, and analytics. Examples include:

  • Maintaining your login session and routing you to the correct workspace
  • Remembering dashboard filters, analytics ranges, and UI settings
  • Measuring performance of pages such as onboarding, pricing, and documentation

6.2 Emplorium Chat Widget on Customer Sites

When our customers embed the Emplorium chat widget on their own websites or apps, the widget may set cookies or local storage entries primarily to:

  • Identify a browser or device during a session, so conversations and forms remain consistent across pages on that same site
  • Restore recent chat history within that site so visitors can see previous messages
  • Support widget performance and abuse prevention, such as limiting automated spam

Emplorium does not use widget cookies to track users across different customer domains or for unrelated cross‑site advertising. Visitor profiles in Emplorium are currently session‑based and do not persist across devices or cleared cookies by default, which keeps tracking scoped to the active session and site. Our customers remain responsible for presenting their own cookie notices and obtaining any legally required consents for third‑party tools, including the Emplorium widget, on their properties.

7. Legal Bases for Using Cookies

Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar laws apply, we rely on different legal bases depending on the category of cookie:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — our legitimate interests in delivering secure, reliable services you request, or to perform a contract with you (for example, keeping you logged in)
  • Functional cookies — our legitimate interests in providing a smoother and more personalized experience, or consent where required by law
  • Analytics and marketing cookies — your consent, obtained through our cookie banner or Cookie Settings center before these cookies are set or read in jurisdictions that require it

8.1 Emplorium Cookie Settings

  • Toggle Functional, Analytics, and Marketing cookies on or off (where available)
